Thermostatic expansion valve

A thermal expansion valve (often abbreviated as TEV, TXV , or TX valve ) is a component in refrigeration and air conditioning systems that controls the amount of refrigerant released into the evaporator thereby keeping superheat, that is, the difference between the current refrigerant temperature and its saturation temperature at the current. The thermostatic expansion valve ( TXV ) is a precision device, which is designed to regulate the rate at which liquid refrigerant flows into the evaporator. This controlled flow is necessary to maximize the efficiency of the evaporator while preventing excess liquid refrigerant from returning to the compressor (floodback). If the load inside the evaporator is higher it allows the increase in flow of the refrigerant and when the load reduces it allows the reduction in the flow of the refrigerant.
